Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
is a research-backed therapy that helps people heal from the emotional impact of traumatic or distressing experiences.
When overwhelming events occur—like an accident or ongoing neglect—your brain’s natural coping system can become overloaded. This can leave memories "stuck," stored in the emotional part of the brain without being fully processed. As a result, you may experience anxiety, panic, or other intense emotions triggered by present-day situations, even if the original memory is buried.
EMDR helps your brain reprocess these unprocessed memories, connecting them to healthier, more adaptive perspectives. It supports emotional healing and restores your ability to live fully in the present.
