About  IFS

YOU ARE THE ONE YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR
(Dick Schwartz)

Do You Ever Feel Conflicted Inside?

Maybe part of you wants to change jobs, while another part is afraid to take the leap.

Or you hear an inner voice criticizing you, even when you’re doing your best.

Or perhaps you notice you show up differently with friends, parents, or your partner.

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re already in touch with what IFS calls “parts.”

What Is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?

IFS is an evidence-based therapy that helps you understand and work with the different parts of your personality—like the Inner Critic, the Pleaser, the Achiever, or the Overeater. Some parts protect, while others carry emotional wounds.

By getting to know these parts, you can shift from stuck or self-sabotaging patterns into more balanced, compassionate, and empowered ways of living.

Why IFS?

  • Backed by research and proven effective for anxiety, depression, addictions, and more

  • Offers a clear, non-pathologizing way to understand your inner world

  • Helps you regulate emotions and make aligned decisions

  • Fosters a deep, healing relationship between you and your therapist

How Is IFS Therapy Different from Talk Therapy?

While traditional talk therapy often focuses on insight and analysis through conversation, Internal Family Systems (IFS) offers a deeper, more experiential path to healing. Instead of just talking about your issues, IFS helps you connect with the parts of you that carry pain, fear, or shame—so true healing can happen from the inside out.

IFS sees the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own feelings, beliefs, and roles. Some parts protect you from pain, others carry wounds from the past. Rather than trying to get rid of these parts or simply understand them intellectually, IFS helps you build a compassionate relationship with them—guided by your core Self, a calm and curious presence within you.

IFS invites you into a powerful journey of self-discovery, healing, and integration.
